How to get my blog indexed faster

26 March 2012: This article is one of a series of experiments I am carrying out to see how to get your Blog indexed quickly on the Search Engines.  You can see the previous article here and you can see the first article of the series here.  You will see from the original article that I am researching how do blogs get indexed so quickly on the search engines.  There are many theories on the forums on how blogs get indexed so quickly such as:- 1. Ping-o-matic pinging service, 2. Google likes blogs, 3. the sitemap generator.

I am implementing changes to my blog on a step by step basis and measuring the results of each change to see how they effect the speed at which my blog is indexed on Google.

In my last article I explained the latest steps I had taken in this experiment and published the article to see how soon would it be indexed on Google.  As I had said previously, my articles in the Tradesmen.ie blog are indexed in less than a minute and appear quite high in the rankings so I wanted to see exactly what influences this and see can we replicate it on other blogs and other pages in our websites.

So on Saturday March 24th (2 days ago) I published one article on the Tradesmen.ie blog and another article on the Barrowvale blog.  Within 1 minute of publishing the Tradesmen.ie blog it was live but half an hour after publishing the Barrowvale blog it still wasn’t live..

18 hours later the barrowvale post is still not live..

2 days later I check the results and it says that it was indexed 1 day ago so it took 24 hours:-

The next step will be to add a link to the blog on the barrowvale site.  As we have seen the blog is already indexed on Google now so it shouldn’t make much of a difference.   Next steps after that will be as follows:-
1. Add the blog to the sitemap to see does it have any effect on how quickly it is indexed in Google.

2.  set up blogs under different names such as ‘News’ or ‘Events’ or ‘Cool Stuff’.  Seemingly Google loves blogs so we want to see does Google still index articles or content that are similar to a blog but do not use the name of ‘blog’.

If you are interested to see the results please feel free to bookmark or subscribe to the blog or to add your comments below.
